Santa Clara, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Toronto FC earned its first road victory of
the season with a 3-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes in Major League Soccer
action at Buck Shaw Stadium on Saturday night.
Dwayne De Rosario came on at halftime to score two goals to lead TFC to its
third win in its last four league fixtures.
The Reds went up 1-0 just after the half-hour mark when Chad Barrett scored
his fourth goal of the season off a defensive miscue by the 'Quakes. With a
ball bouncing in the San Jose third, defender Jason Hernandez tried to head
back to goalkeeper Joe Cannon. But Cannon was out of position, allowing
Barrett to get his foot on the ball to knock it home.
De Rosario doubled he visitor's lead in the 70th minute when he ran onto a
ball played behind the defense and one-timed a low shot just inside
the right post, past an onrushing Cannon.
San Jose pulled a goal back in the 75th minute when team captain Ramiro
Corrales got his head on a Bobby Convey corner kick to make it 2-1.
With Cannon playing in the offensive third as the 'Quakes were pushing for the
equalizer, De Rosario scored into an open net seconds before the final whistle
to close out the scoring.
San Jose (5-3-1) is right back in action on Wednesday when it hosts the
Columbus Crew, while TFC (5-4-1) plays next vs. Kansas City on Saturday.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch
Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.
Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.
"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
