Cardinals' Lohse has surgery
Baseball Betting Lines
05/28/2010 -
Chicago, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Kyle Lohse
underwent fascial release surgery on his right forearm Friday, though a
timetable for his return has not yet been determined.
Lohse was diagnosed with exertional compartment syndrome, requiring the
surgery that Dr. Steven Shin performed in Los Angeles. He will begin therapy
in one week.
Lohse had experienced discomfort in the forearm during his most recent start,
last Saturday against the Angels, and a subsequent MRI scan showed
inflammation but no evidence of structural damage.
Lohse is 1-4 with a 5.89 earned-run average in nine starts this season. In his
start Saturday, Lohse allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings.
The Cardinals placed the pitcher on the disabled list Thursday, retroactive to
May 23.
