The Wizards tied the game in regulation when Al Thornton drained a step-back trey with 8.7 seconds to play. Thornton finished with 10 points -- eight in the fourth stanza -- before fouling out early in overtime.

Charlotte set a new franchise record in victories, winning its 36th contest on the campaign. The Bobcats finished 35-47 last season.

The Wizards are now one loss shy of a team-record losing streak, set March 13 - April 13, 1995.
