Toews streaked down the left-wing side and, from the circle, rifled home a wrist shot that beat Deslauriers between the pads. The Blackhawks took control of the contest with three goals in the second period. At the 5:50 mark of the middle stanza, the visitors grabbed a two-goal lead via Brouwer's 15th goal. Kane maneuvered his way around the right side of the offensive zone with the puck. From along the rear boards near the right post, Kane sent a backhand pass into the right side of the slot for a successful one-timer by Brouwer. Midway through the frame, Chicago increased its lead to 3-0. Kris Versteeg held control behind the goal line and passed to the left point for a one- timer by Duncan Keith. The disc was deflected by Byfuglien from the low slot on its way to the net and the redirection fooled Deslauriers. Hossa's power-play marker at the 13:53 mark created a four-goal cushion. Edmonton finally reached the scoreboard with 39.4 seconds to go before the second intermission. A scramble in front led to a swat at the loose puck from the crease area by Ethan Moreau. The disc drifted toward the goal line before Pisani pushed it in while fighting for position with Huet in the crease. Potulny's 11th goal at 5:44 of the final stanza capped the scoring. A turnover by Niklas Hjalmarsson near his own goal line led to Patrick O'Sullivan gaining control of the puck. O'Sullivan, from the left circle, backhanded a pass to Potulny, whose wrister lit the lamp. Game Notes This is the longest winless skid for Edmonton since a 12-game slide from February 25-March 21, 2007...The Oilers have also lost seven straight and 14 of their last 15 at home...Chicago improved to 4-2-0 on the road trip...The Blackhawks have won four straight in Edmonton...Huet made an amazing diving save on a shot by Dustin Penner in the final seconds...Chicago was 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Oilers failed on their only power-play chance.
